Saturday, January 11th. 10:30a-5:30p
There comes a time in everyones life when they are ready for a test — a test of their heart and soul. A real test that takes you to your very core — your soul — and either spits you out or makes you into a new person. Our very own Jon Templeman took that test in April of 2011; SEALFIT Kokoro Camp – the world’s premier training camp for forging mental toughness and a warrior’s spirit, an intense crucible experience modeled off of the infamous Navy SEAL Hell Week; in John’s case, a veritable hell of physical and mental torture that lasted nearly two straight days with no rest. John was led by retired Seal, Mark Divine. It was Mark who challenged John to 3,000 burpees…a feat that to John’s knowledge has only been accomplished to date by one other human in the known universe.
Fast forward to 2013, Mark’s challenge had now become the seed that had blossomed into Burpee-a-thon – a fundraiser in support of The Green Beret Foundation. John successfully raised $2, 000 while submitting hours, all in the name of those who are sadly no longer with us; our nation’s finest and most elite warrior soldiers.
Anyone who wishes to donate may do so either in person this Saturday between 8:30a-5:00p or online at burpeeathon.com
This event is being sponsored by Georgetown Brewery.
