Huge Congrats to our Olympic Lifting Coach Lincoln, for competing in the 2014 National Masters Weightlifting Championships this weekend. We are very lucky to have him on staff here at CFBT and couldn’t be more proud of him!

Lincoln  competed in the  77kg/55-59 age group category. He went 3-for-6 on his lifts and won Gold as well as qualified for World Masters by his 5th lift. Worlds will be in in Copenhagen, Denmark this year.

On Sunday he coached two lifters. One lifter, Robby Ho, who was one of the first weightlifters he had ever coached from over a decade ago back when he lived in San Diego. The other lifter, Julio Laboy, he had just met that day, after a mutual friend threw out a request to help him out when his regular coach couldn’t make the trip.  Julio earned bronze while Robby took silver, both in hard fought contests, Julio went 4-for-6 with a 75kg snatch/95kg clean & jerk while Robby hit 113kg and 130kg respectively. Robby cleaned 141 kilos (310 lbs. ) at a bodyweight of 82kg (182lbs.) but couldn’t quite get the jerk.

The 2014 CrossFit Games Open season is upon us. Everyone in the world will be invited to compete in five workouts over five weeks, posting their scores online in real time. The first workout will be announced Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 5 pm PST. The remaining workouts will be released each Thursday following.

Athletes will have until the following Monday, 5 p.m. PST  to perform each workout and submit their score. There are no exceptions to the deadline listed above in submitting scores, NONE WHATSOEVER.  Please allow yourself sufficient time to enter the scores considering the possibility of a technical error.

Should you wish to participate in the 2014 CrossFit Open, you must first register online by going to the CrossFit Games site at http://games.crossfit.com/ no later than Monday February 27th, 5pm PST. Once registered, please be sure you have chosen CrossFit Belltown as your HOME gym by requesting to join our team.

CrossFit Belltown will be hosting each workout on the following days & times listed below. We will have a  heat-sheet located at the gym front desk every Thursday evening following the release of each workout.  The first heat-sheet will be posted Thursday Feb 27th at 6:30pm. EACH ATHLETE MUST REGISTER FOR A HEAT TIME EITHER IN PERSON OR VIA EMAIL. ANY ATHLETE EXPECTING TO HAVE HIS/HER WORKOUT JUDGED WITHOUT HAVING PRIORLY REGISTERED FOR A HEAT TIME WILL BE ASKED TO DO THEIR WORKOUT LAST.

Please be sure to contact us directly at info@crossfitbelltown.com should you need to make alternative arrangements to have your workout validated by one of our judges/coaches; an in-house verbal conversation or social media outlet will not suffice.

A kind reminder this New Year to please register for any & all class via Mind Body online.  We are finding it increasingly more difficult to accommodate members on a walk-in basis; it gives us no time to plan ahead for how each class will need to be most effectively managed.  This makes it very difficult to cater to each athletes unique needs and creates a host of other logistical challenges along the way.

Going forward it is absolutely mandatory that all members register for classes online. However keep in mind, there is a 1-hour cut-off prior to the start of each class that disallows members from registering; please plan your registration schedule accordingly.

Should you encounter a class that is fully booked, please be sure to add yourself to the class wait-list; we are more inclined to openly and easily accommodate any number of members once we can see (in advance) how many athletes are hoping to attend said class(s).

We strongly encourage all CFBT Members to register and participate, regardless of your athletic ability.

Loud voices are encouraged, sweating is allowed, and a team will be made stronger!
