First Memorable CrossFit Experience: My first Murph… only a few weeks into CrossFit. I had no idea what I signed up for and quickly realized I grossly underestimated the power of body weight movements (obviously, I did not use a vest). I was able to grind through it though and upon completion it was an incredibly rewarding feeling and a level of fatigue I had never experienced. I look forward to it every year now.
Favorite WOD: Any workout that has a heavy weight component or Cindy.
Favorite Lift: Bench press.
Least Favorite WOD: Karen.
Favorite CrossFit Moment: Open 16.2 workout. It was my first year competing in the Open and I was not proficient with toe-2-bars or double-unders, so I decided to complete the scaled version and see how far I could get. I thoroughly surprised myself by completing the full workout under 18 minutes. The level of energy and support from everyone at Belltown that evening was incredible.
Why You Do CrossFit: I originally started Crossfit because I was looking for variety from the typical 24-hour Fitness lifting routine. However, what I have grown to love is the intensity, self-improvement/competition, and strong sense of camaraderie.
Favorite Cheat Meal: Burger, fries, and a Coors Light.
CrossFit Secret: Learn / be cognizant of your strengths and weaknesses. You can strategize WODs to know when you can or should push a bit harder to build a cushion for portions that are weaker for you or where you know you will inevitably need to rest.
What Do You Do On Rest Days: Sleep in and depending on the time of year either watch sports, ski, or spend time on the water with friends.
What Can’t You Live Without: Family, friends, and the ocean.
Favorite Vacation Spot: Bucerias, Mexico
